Teacher Leadership Development
This process provides learning and support to teacher leaders so that they increase their own capabilities and those of others to improve student achievement. The development of teacher leaders increases expertise for student learning and extends tools for teachers in collaborative professional learning.
TEACHER LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROVIDES:
- Networking with other teacher leaders creating a sense of connectedness among professionals.
- Common vocabulary and learning conversation structures among teacher leaders in various roles.
- Collaborative skills and strategies for working with adult learners.
- Reflective practice as integral part of roles and responsibilities.
TEACHER LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT DESIGN: This course content is aligned with the Teacher Leader Model Standards and customized to the needs of the specific district and teacher roles targeted The elements below are part of a 30 hour learning course.
- Models, promotes and provides strategies for reflective practice.
- Structures learning conversations for various purposes from one-to-one coaching to effective meetings.
- Builds understanding and tools for group development and a climate of relational trust.
- Creates a learner-centered, collaborative tool kit for working with teachers and other adults.

Sessions are customized to meet the needs of the district and/or campus.
