Authentic Tasks
AUTHENTIC TASKS
With decreasing budgets and staff, districts are looking for ways to provide quality learning for staff members while completing needed tasks and projects. Embedding a district or campus authentic task into organizational training allows the staff member to receive new skills/strategies while completing necessary work. Administrators and other identified personnel are able to utilize the new learning in future projects, while having the satisfaction of accomplishing an important task.
AUTHENTIC TASKS PROVIDE:
- Reflection for action challenges existing mental models and improves the quality of decisions and actions.
- Process results in increased organization capacities and participant capabilities.
AUTHENTIC TASK DESIGN:
- Task can be any identified district/campus need (Professional Learning Plan, Strategic Plan, Discipline Management Plan)
- Collaborative skills/strategies are selected to enhance the work on the identified authentic task
- Applications of skills/strategies are extended and expanded to meet future needs
COST:
Sessions are customized to meet the needs of the district/campus.
